6 Tips To Protect What You Love Year Round

Today is Earth Day, a worldwide day to celebrate our environment. We believe that everyday is “Earth Day” and you can protect what you love year round by making simple changes in your daily life. We can all help protect our mountains, lakes, rivers, parks, oceans, waves and beaches…to be enjoyed by all for generations to come.

To help you out, we came up with 6 easy things you can do this Earth Day and every day:

Ditch the plastic bottles and foam cups. Carry a reusable bottle. Plastic bottles are one of the top five most common types of litter found on beaches!
Grand Canyon. Bring a BagCarry out what you carry in.  When you go for a hike or go camping make sure your brig out all the trash you have with you like food wrappers. Plan ahead, bring a bag for your trash and tie it to your backpack or throw it in the car when you are leave and dump when you see a trash can. (Hint our reusable canvas bag is helpful and inspiring with our mantra -as seen in photo)

Avoid buying items packaged in plastic and foam. Look for produce and other items that aren’t over-packaged. Not only are you reducing the plastic you use, you’re sending a message to the manufacturers of those products that you prefer sustainable packaging.

Volunteer at a beach, lake or river cleanup. Join your local eco protection organization and volunteer for one of their clean-ups to help pick up debris and plastic that others have left behind. These events are a great way to meet new people, clean your environment and have some fun!

Don’t have time to volunteer? Support the organizations that protect the environment. The Surfrider Foundation helps protect the beaches and oceans. The Sierra Club helps protect the mountains and parks. The Arbor Day foundation helps keep our environment green. There are tons of organizations that you will like. You just have to search for them and become a member.

Be The Rad You Want To See In The World. Inspire others to do good by taking the first step in keeping your favorite places clean. Pick up trash even if it is not yours. Use reusable bottles even if you are at a restaurant or at Starbucks (they give you $ off each time you bring in your own coffee container).
When people see you doing good they will start to do good as well.
